Beach Event Questions

• Can I turn up on the day and register for the event?

  There will be a limited number registrations available on the day. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you register and pre pay in advance. Register and pay now to guarantee your spot.

• If I register through Moshtix will my Giant Inflatable Thong be sent to me?

  Nothing for the beach events will be sent via mail. If you register through Moshtix you will need to collect your Havaianas Giant Inflatable at the beach on the day.

• If I register through Moshtix for the beach event do I still need to arrive at 8am?

  If you register through Moshtix for the beach events you will not need to arrive at 8am, but we do recommend you arrive at least 1 hour prior to the World Record Attempt (WRA), as you will still need to collect your inflatable thong on the day. Please look at individual beach pages for WRA times.

• What if I turn up on the day and all of the Havaianas Giant Inflatable are sold out?

  Don't worry, you can still enjoy the day and watch as we try to set a new world record. To avoid disappointment however, make sure you get down to your beach early, or pre register online!

• Who is this event for?

  The event is for all ages and is ideal for families and friends wanting to celebrate Australia Day and have fun! Please note that participants in the World Record Attempt aged between 8-13 years MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian to consent on the day, and must be accompanied into the water by a participant (14 years +) authorised by that child's parent or guardian on the day. Children under 8 are not able to take part in the WRA due to water safety restrictions.

• What should I bring on the day?

  Sunscreen, protective clothing (i.e. hat / t-shirt), water and a towel and your registration form.

• Can I participate if I am under 14 years of age?

  Yes, participants aged between 8-13 years old can participate but you will need to have your parent or a guardian read the terms and conditions and consent on your behalf on the day. Children aged between 8-13 years old will need to be accompanied into the water by a participant (14 years +) authorised by that child's parent or guardian on the day. Children under 8 will not be able to take part in the WRA due to water safety restrictions.

• Will it be safe on the water on a Havaianas Giant Inflatable?

  Yes it will. We have dedicated water safety teams that will guide you out to a huge on water rope course in the safest part of the ocean. There will be lifesavers and watercraft on the water at all times to make sure every participant is safe.

• Will there be first aid on hand?

  Yes all SLSC's will have dedicated first aid staff in case any person requires medical attention.

• What happens if we set a World Record?

  World Records and World Record Attempts will be announced on the day. Everyone who registered online and was a part of a new World record will be sent an email notification congratulating them on their achievement. Please note you will not receive this notification until after the event and this may take some time as Guiness World Records must deem the attempt valid and award a new Record.

• What if my Havaianas Giant Inflatable gets damaged or stolen?

  Once you receive your Havaianas Giant Inflatable it is your responsibility. Do not leave it unattended on the beach as unfortunately there are no refunds.

• What if the weather is not so good on the day?

  With all outdoor events this is always a possibility. Whilst there are no refunds on registrations, we will continue to run as much of the day as possible despite the weather. Keep your fingers crossed!

• What happens if the swell is too dangerous for the World Record attempt to go ahead?

  As this is an outdoor event there is always a possibility of unsafe swell and rips on the day. If the swell is deemed too dangerous by event organisers, the World Record Attempt may either be relocated to a safer area or cancelled. But don't worry; there are still plenty of other fun activities planned on the day.
