Havaianas Countdown
Congratulations Cottesloe
Put your hands together for the great state of WA, the world record holders beating their previous record by just 6 with a total of 2099 giant inflatable Havaianas in the water.

It was a sea of orange and happy smiling Australians who braved the heat at Cottesloe Beach to bring home the giant winning gold thong ahead of SA, QLD, VIC and NSW, with Bondi conditions deemed too rough, it became a 4 state race.

Next year is our 10 year anniversary... it will be big. Lock it in your diaries now! See photos from your state
Every registration = a thong WELL SPENT
$10 from every registration is donated back to the local participating surf club - to help our incredible lifesavers provide vital surf patrols, training programs and education. This year  we are proud to announce that $64, 710 was raised across the 5 states.  Since the Havaianas Thong Challenge event began in 2006, we’ve raised a total of $334, 710 for this incredible volunteer organisation. 9 YEARS of world records & smiling Aussies
Back in 2006, we set a new world record for the longest line of giant inflatable Havaianas on the ocean. We’ve beaten this record six times now - with a new record held by WA - for 2,099!  Go back in time
Cottesloe. You did it again.
Every year, the states battle it out to see who can come out on top. Australia Day 2014 was your chance to represent your state as well as your country! Although Bondi surf conditions meant NSW was out of the running, all states gave their best with big numbers achieved this year.  So give yourself a pat on the back for getting involved.
